Avary Dimmock

Avary Dimmock is VCC’s “Veteran of the Month” for July. Avary served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946.

Prior to entering the Navy, Avary was a student at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. When he returned, he graduated from law school and was a practicing real estate attorney for more than 50 years. Married for 47 years, Avary has two children, one grandchild and one great grandchild.

In retirement, Avary enjoys a fairly low-key lifestyle. A highlight of every week is Thursday, when he and a friend have lunch at their favorite restaurant, Chick-Fil-A. This tradition has been going for more than five years. And in that amount of time, they have only missed three Thursday lunches.

Recently Avary turned 91. To mark the occasion, the employees decorated the restaurant with balloons and party hats. They also made his favorite milk shake, which is no longer on the menu. The local newspaper even covered the celebration.

Avary is grateful to VCC for the wonderful care and outstanding customer service the company provides. He also loves the attention he receives from his caregiver and the ability to remain living independently at home.

About Kyle Laramie, Founder & CEO

Kyle founded Veterans Care Coordination in April 2011. As its founder and CEO of VCC, Kyle is driven by the memory of his grandfather, a World War II Veteran who unnecessarily missed out on essential VA benefits because Kyle’s family wasn’t aware of available opportunities. In recognition of his impact in leadership, Kyle was named to the St. Louis Business Journal’s prestigious “40 Under 40” list and St. Louis Small Business Monthly’s “100 St. Louisans to Know” in 2014. VCC was named a St. Louis Small Business Monthly “Top 20” small business and a finalist for the St. Louis Post Dispatch Top Workplace (2015-2022), St. Louis Business Journal Best Place to Work (2019 & 2022), and the Arcus Awards (2014). The team has served more than 14,000 Veteran clients and their families. Kyle frequently speaks on Veterans’ benefits, addressing conferences such as the Home Care Association of America and Decision Health. He is passionate about giving back and has built a charitable-minded organization that supports various philanthropic efforts.
