Veteran of the Month: Charles Hockenberry

Charles Hockenberry

Charles Hockenberry is our March Veteran of the Month! Charles served in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1946. He worked in the photography department developing areal photographs.

Charles lives with his daughter Krista in Mars, Pennsylvania, and he has six children- three girls and three boys. All three of his sons have served in the Navy as well!

Charles also has 9 grandchildren, one being a Lieutenant in the United States Coast Guard. He also has a dog named Scarlett, who he is very close with.

Charles has led a very active life. He was self- employed, the owner of Hockenberry Heating and Cooling for over 30 years before his retirement. He had a pilots license and flew a 180 Piper. He is a lover of antique cars and restored quite a few, his favorite was a 1960 Mercury convertible sedan. Now he enjoys putting together model cars and has accumulated many over the past year.
